Wow,
Terry brought in some great terrain and laid out some very tough tables. Thanks again Terry, it wouldn't have been half as nice without you.
The people were all great, from the young kids to us old crusty snots. Everyone's attitudes were outstanding. We had a lot of game questions and interesting situations pop up and most of them were settled without blood shed or to much loss of time. Thanks to Terry, Paul and Sean Cruz for acting as a rules quorum. Thanks to John and Mike for being the final arbitrators and the Painting and History Judges.
I played both Sean's. What a nightmare. My first game on the winter table is probably the only reason I got a draw against Sean Curl's Soviet tank force.
Sean Cruz' DAK Aufklarungs unit was tough, my AA did well against his armored HS 129's. Wish I had bought the 3.7's though. That game was another one where some luck spared me an early loss and then quite possibly lost me the chance to win as all my reinforcements came on in the exact spot away from the main battle.
My last battle with Jeremiah taught me a lesson in patience and read and practice a mission before attempting it at a tournament. I thought an objective came off in turn 3, 4. So made a mad dash for them with all my infantry and promptly got my infantry slaughtered. That's what I get for bringing infantry to an attack battle.
All in all, I played two great players in two incredibly tough battles using my very underpowered German Early War Infantry company. I didn't win the tournament, but faired better than expected. Especially since this was only the 5th, 6th and 7th times I have played my German Infantry.
Next tournament will be with German Armor I think, or Soviet Armor.
Hopefully we will do this again in a few months. I have cleared my Sunday schedule so will be available to play on Sunday afternoons with enough notice.
It was great meeting and chatting with everyone. Old friends, new friends, young and old. My first gaming tournament was very similar to this one, and I am glad we got to share such a positive experience with the new players.

I really enjoyed the time I was in the back watching you guys play, it looked awesome!
It looks like all had a good time and I (and everyone) here at the store would like to thank everyone for participating, and Terry and Chris for all the work they put into getting this of the ground.
PS: I'll work on pictures in the next day or so.

Chris, i am glad you learned something from me, i guess i am so used to having it be the other way around. but what i wanted to say was that i learned the same thing from that last battle, although it might have been from a different perspective, i think we both had the same lesson last hours.

One thing I also forget to do as Germans, since I have played them so few times is to use my Smoke while advancing. Quite silly of me really. So expect to see me with some cotton balls the next few battles as I experiment with it.
Jeremiah, the great joy of gaming is always being able to learn something new. From everyone you play. I think I could have done a lot better in that last game had I thought it through better.
Yet, I learned a few good lessons. I am not happy I lost, but I can live with learning so that next time I do better.
