I dunno... I think the joke was kind of a stretch, but I went there anyway.
Anyhow, I thought that I would let you all know the tournament schedule for the next month...
I will be running a 40K tournament on Saturday, February 25th for all those interested. As per normal, there will be a $10 entry fee, kicked back into prizes. Although the tournament will start at 12 pm, you should plan on showing up at 11 to register and turn in your army list.
The scoring will be:
Scoring: There will be 106 points available... the points for appearance are counted seperately and will not count towards overall score.
You can get a total of 60 points in your battles, meaning that if you win ALL your missions and recieve ALL the secondary objectives, you get 60 points.
There are 30 points awarded by your opponents for sportsmanship and fairness of your army. So play nice.
Finally, the score that everybody seems most curious about, there are 16 points for composition.
The composition requirements are:
>At least 40% Troops
>More Troops choices than in other selections
>No more than 25% in Fast Attack, Elites, or Heavy Support
>No more than 10% in the Armoury
>Unit names and designations
Of interest to some of you should be the fact that this will be run in conjunction to a painting competition.
The cost for the competition will be $5 plus the cost of any small base blister (any miniature line) which will should be purchased on either Saturday 21st or Sunday the 22nd. The miniature that you purchase will be noted, and no parts from OTHER MINIATURES may be used to convert it, though putty and other bitz will be acceptable. These miniatures should be completed and submitted to the store no later than 12 pm on the day of the tournament.
Since the painting composition will be scored on the day of the tournament, so those of you playing might take the oppurtunity to add a new model to your existing army! Prizes will be awarded from the pool of money collected, so it also increses your chance to walk away with something!
Feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

Oh... yeah. These things use "points" don't they? Let's say 1850 just for kicks.

Darn you all... asking pertinant questions and the like...
We will make this a 2000 point tournament so you all can bust out your lords. As always, this should exclude special characters. That's a pretty tall order for a Sunday, so we need to run on time, so come ready to play your hearts out (and I don't mean those tums with "hug me" written on them...)

I think you got the wrong topic. Liely you wanted to post this in the "Pre V day" topic. This one already says 1850 pts.

What about variant armies such as craftwords (esp. Iyaden and Samm-Hain) who don't mainly use Troops (would they still be marked down for compision)?

Whatever counts as troops choices. Iyanden should then have lots of wraithguard/lords, etc.
