As the summer winds down it means one things, gaming!

We are thinking of having a game possibly Sunday 9/21. My question to you is what kind of game do you want to have. Old tech (starter box) or some newer stuff?

I am open to suggestions and am thinking of a 3025 game myself. But we are always open to suggestions!

Dale

Well the fates have conspired against us and things are not in the cards to make it out this weekend. The downside of living 2 hours away is having to devote a entire day to things. Time will be more plentiful in the coming months and we really want to hear from people and give us feedback.

We want to and will get a game going once a month at Merlyns, even if it kills us.

We are still going to run games. We are both Lions Club members and we run this little fall colors train ride up here. Thankfully next weekend is the last weekend. I am also on a 7 on 7 off schedule so I am tied up every other weekend.

Good news. I'll finally be able to paint my Battletech figures once some paintbrushes I ordered come in. I'm thinking about using a paint scheme of my own concoction for my unit. I'm thinking about basing them as a merc unit Smile

I'll see if I can't post pictures when I'm done.

I found an EXCELLENT site for Battletech resources. From design tools to paper minis for Mechs, Infantry, ect. There is also paper models of buildings Very Happy (Something I've been looking for awhile!).
Also, what sourcebook has the rules for Aeromechs and 3d movement?

Da site: www.pryderockindustrie...aphics.php

Areotech 2 revised and Total Warfare both have rules for areospace fighters.

As for Land Air Mechs, uhhh, The very old Tactical Handbook maybe. LAM's have been written out of the game for various reasons.

Also check out www.camospecs.com for painting advice and schemes. Not to mention good pics of assembled minis. Had to reference them a few times for that.

Yeah, it's a shame. I read up on it and got some more background. Tis sad that Robotech and Battletech had that problem. *Sniff* I love them both!

I really like Camospecs. I first found them through the link on the Classic Battletech website.

But at least the game was established long enough and had progressed mini wise that when the unseens came about it didn't kill their entire mini line.

How are your mini's coming along?

Brushes still aren't in so I haven't touched them. Though I did some prepping for painting awhile ago for some of the mini's so all that needs to be done is a pre-wash to remove oils, ect.
I'm not entirely sure what kind of scheme I'm going to go with though I do like greys, blues, and greens. Or, I could go with something completely different and mod my Atlas with a little Hello Kitty head and make it pink and purple. It would strike fear into any foe, Mwahahaha!

I also have two little 'mechs from a 50 cent machine that I modified and mounted on Gatorade bottle lids that I could write stats up for as well. Though I would need to find suitable hex bases for them.
I also need to finish reading the larger rulebook that came with the Starter Set.

You can never go wrong with a basic cammo. And the atlas would be awesome.

Just keep them on the bottle caps. Remember, hex bases are not a requirement to play.

I just got brushes and stuff in today. I could use Super Sculpey to make the head...
I just wish I could get another plastic Atlas so I could go with both ideas. I could make a cheap plaster copy to mess around with so I don't ruin my Atlas with my lack of skills. Anyway, my friends will think I'm crazy. Though I'm not saying I'm not....

What do you think I should go with for the face? I was thinking either the traditional look, the happy eyes, or angry eyes. I think the happy eyes would be the most disturbing (And most demoralizing :D)

Also, Ground Zero Games has an awesome (now)free Starship combat game (As well as a 6mm and 15mm ground based games.). All their games can work together so you can Space/Ground Campaigns spanning solar systems. I think we could use their rulebook and do a large interplanetary campaign with space combat :D. The troop carrying rules wouldn't be too hard to adapt, just a little bit tinkering.
The link (It's a free pdf download, all you'll need to look at is Full Thrust but you could also check out it's Fleet books and More Thrust, as well as Dirtside II (6mm) and Stargrunt II (15mm).: www.groundzerogames.ne...&Itemid=50

GZG also produces tons of miniatures that are perfect for generic sci-fi ground and space wargames. It would be a really cheap way to get tanks, infantry, and power armor. They're spaceship line is pretty sweet too. They even have little mecha for use with fighter rules :D.
