DC restarted 52 of their titles a few months ago, you may have heard and the sales figures are starting to trickle in.

I know I've beaten myself silly into picking a lot of titles that have disapointed me and the ones I thought I wouldn't like are really great! (smiley face/mad face)

My own personal biggest surprise was Aquaman and Batwing, which have been outstanding.

Anyway, all you readers of DC, what do you think about the titles so far?
And which ones are you plunking down good money to read?

Here's the sales figures for the last 2 months of DC titles.

Animal Man up 16%.

Detective Comics, Catwoman and Swamp Thing are up 7%.
Red Hood And The Outlaws up 6%.
Nightwing up 5%
Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman are up 4%
Superboy and Batwoman are both up 3%
Stormwatch, Supergirl and Demon Knights are all up 2%

Now, let's look at the other side of the coin.

Blackhawks down -21%
Superman down -20%
Grant Morrison's Action Comics and Men At War are both down 16%
Savage Hawkman, Green Lantern New Guardians, Fury of Firestorm The Nuclear Men and Hawk And Dove are all down -16%

I am currently subscribed to:
Animal Man, Deathstroke, Demon Knights, Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E., I, Vampire, Justice League Dark, Resurrection Man, Suicide Squad, Swamp Thing, and Voodoo.

The Good:
"Animal Man" is heating up and with only three issues out I'm already on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. They've got a wonderful plot hook that I'm curious to see through, interesting concepts and characters that I haven't heard before, it's just fantastic. The artwork is exceptional and matches the setting well too.

"Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E." is also wonderful. It's a completely new feel combining superhero comics with the paranormal and the comically twisted, or maybe that's just me. It's just... interesting, and I dig it. Looking forward to where this one is going.

"Justice League Dark" is interesting as well and dark and edgy. In what other comic series are you going to see a tornado of teeth tear apart the Justice League? The series shows a lot of mystery in the characters and plot.

The Bad:
"Deathstroke" I'm probably going to unsubscribe from this as I do not want to just watch Slade kill people and blow stuff up while making one-liners in between. Reading it is like watching a bad action movie but I want to like it because it's such a cool character.

"I, Vampire" looked pretty cool from what I read of it but I have no idea what is happening or who anybody is. The story has gotten nowhere so far as well. Thinking about unsubscribing from this as well but I will be keeping my eye on it.

"Voodoo" I just can't get into it and it's pretty confusing.

I'm also curious as to what others would suggest to read or not to read.

Overall, I like a LOT of the new titles.

My personal favorites so far, though, are:

1. Animal Man

2. O.M.A.C.

3. Batman

4. Batman and Robin

5. Batwing

6. Swamp Thing

7. Action Comics

8. All-Star Western

9. Wonder Woman

I'm also pretty keen on Men of War, Nightwing, Birds of Prey, Batwoman, Demon Knights, and I, Vampire.

My favourite 'The New 52' titles are 'Wonder Woman,' 'Batgirl,' and--though it was not one of the original 'The New 52' (but says 'The New 52' on it)--'Constantine.'

I like that 'Wonder Woman' is so far always based on Greek mythology, and similarly, lately I like magic-based titles such as 'Constantine.' I like seeing Barbara Gordon back as Batgirl. I am sort of interested in reading Justice League (both,) and if I had the time, I would read Batman family, Hawkman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Superman family, Legion of Superheroes, but in the early 1990s I became less interested in Superheroes. I slightly got back into it in 2008 with 'Titans,' then 'Batman' ('R.I.P.,') which I read through part of 'Batman & Robin' vol. 1 (but Batgirl became more interesting,) and 'Wonder Woman' ('Rise of The Olympian,') which I have been reading since. As a kid/teenager in the 1980s - '90s, I read only male superheroes unless 'Supergirl' or something was all that was around to read, and admittedly, a major reason I read 'Batgirl' is she is good-looking, which is part of why I started reading 'Wonder Woman,' but she is also a major, classic, mythology-based character. For a while I have been reading comics of some male 'proto-superheroes' (by Dynamite Entertainment) after Alex Ross did some covers (and I am reading other stuff with his covers,) but I might get interested in new Batman, etc. comics someday.
