Just a reminder that the Merlyn's late night D&D group is continuing. Every-other Friday (usually) at 10:00 pm until about 1:00 am.
We are running 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons rules in the AD&D 1st Edition S1 Tomb of Horrors currently. Previously we ran the prequel to Slave pits, A0, and before that the Basic adventure.

Tomb of Horrors is mostly puzzle/trap/thinking dungeon, very little combat, and VERY deadly to PCs, so requires a large group to survive.

There are some core players, and then some (3-4) extra PCs that anyone who wants to join can "take over" and participate (first-come-first-serve). New PCs will not be introduced in this dungeon, only those currently within can be used (a total of 9 currently).

The door to Merlyn's is usually locked, so you may need to text/cal Hawke on his cell to have someone let you in (509. 481.5437).

Happy Gaming!

Current status:

Ranger is dead, torn to pieces a number of sessions ago by the recurring 4-armed gargoyles.

The party navigated the many door-combination hallways, and made it to the hall of many colored spheres, as per the riddle of Acererak from the beginning of the entrance into the Tomb.

They went through one orb and sacrificed some gems to create a ring in the hand of the 3-armed Gargoyle statue.

They found the secret tunnels through the orb illusions, and dealt with the Three deadly chests.

They found the chapel, and fled the gas from the pew into the doorway of mist, and had their alignments and genders switched.

They did what they could to reverse those consequences.

They found thousands of coins, copper, silver, and gold, under the other pews, but left one other unopened, fearing it would release another bout of gas.

They sacrificed the magic ring to open the stonedoor, and traveled down the steps. They dealt with the breakable doors with the pits just beyond.

They found the hidden door in the bottom side wall of one of the pits.

So far the party has held up better than most, most groups have lost several PCs by this stage (5th edition D&D definitely making a difference, but also a VERY cautious group, with some ingenious ideas to protect themselves from harm).
