"What is Sankara?"
"Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory."

Alright, the game FORTUNE AND GLORY isn't really an Indiana Jones adventure game, but it's as close your going to get.
This absolutely cool game takes place in the 1930s. The Nazis (I hate these guys) have taken control of Germany and now spread darkness across the globe in their hunt for powerful occult artifacts that can give them the upper hand in the days to come.

Now, heroic adventurers from around the world race against time to hunt down ancient artifacts, explore deadly temples, and fight back the powers of darkness from engulfing the world. It is a race of good versus evil and only a cunning and agile explorer can claim the ultimate prize of… Fortune and Glory!

Fortune and Glory features four game types - Competitive, Cooperative, Team Game, and, get this, Solo play.

The game includes 165, ya, go back and read that again, I'll wait.
165 incredibly detailed miniatures for all of the hero characters, villain characters, a horde of Nazi soldiers and mafia thugs, Mayan temples, a large Nazi zeppelin, and full bags of plastic coins in gold (fortune) and crystal blue (glory).

Some of the heroes you can play are:
Jake Zane (The Flying Ace) - he's a daring pilot and brash young adventurer.
Duke Dudley (British Lord) - The Duke is an independently wealthy aristocrat who craves adventure and has the funds to travel the globe in search of it!
Li Mei Chen (Night Club Singer) - This Hong Kong singer croons on stage but was trained from birth in the martial arts. She is a sworn protector of her people as part of a secret order known as the Silent Dragon.
Dr. Zhukov (Master of Science) - A Russian scientist with a penchant for dangerous expeditions.
Sharon Hunter (Daring Photographer) - She set out from New York city to photograph the exotic parts of the world unkown.
Alexander Cartwright (Reclusive Novelist) - Content to quietly write about his adventures, Cartwright is drawn once again into the heart of danger!
Shelly Hargrove (Race Car Driver) - She lives a fast life and dives headlong into perilous adventures.
Jacques Moreau (Tomb Robber) - He is a scoundrel and a ruthless anti-hero. Some people will hate Jacques, but others will LOVE him!

During the game, there are always four active adventures available. Each of these adventures has an artifact associated with it. You draw an 'Artifact' card from the Artifact Deck and an 'Adventure' card from the Adventure Deck and pair them together to create the Artifact Adventure. The decks each contain half of the name. So, an example would be "The Eyes..." paired with "...of the Crimson Hand". One of the cards has the value of the treasure and the other card shows the number of dangers that must be overcome to get the treasure. So, every time you play the game, there are very unique adventures to challenge the players. Each time you generate one of these pairings, you also draw a 'Location' card from the Location Deck to determine where in the world the treasure lies. You generate four of these pairings at the beginning of the game and then generate a new pairing each time one is recovered by a player. Some Artifacts are not specific treasures, but rather a location known as a Temple (an example might be "The City...of Time"). When these are drawn, you place one of the detailed temple miniatures onto the board. Now, characters can journey into this temple and gain fortune. But, the danger of temples is that the more they are plundered for gold, the greater the risk of collapse! A major theme of the game is deciding how far to "push your luck" in risky situations and it provides some serious edge-of-your-seat excitement. Perfect for the Cliffhanger Pulp Adventure genre!

One of the funnest things I've found out about this game is...
the..
(wait for it.....)

CLIFFHANGER!!!

When setting out on the Adventure, you announce it by saying out loud “[Your Character Name] and The Tears of the Azure Jewel!”

You then draw a Danger card. It will be a test of some kind. Let’s say the Danger is a CAR CHASE. You make an Agility check. If you pass, you get a choice of either Pushing On or Camping Down. By Pushing On, you get to draw another Danger, building towards the total you need to claim the relic. By Camping Down you get to turn in the Danger you just passed for the Glory value (and Glory is the currency of the game) and can take another Danger in your next turn. HOWEVER, if you Push On and fail, you lose any Danger cards you’ve already beaten and can’t turn them on for Glory. It’s a nice risk/reward thing.

Failing a Danger means you flip the card to its Cliffhanger side, and your turn....
ends.
(to be continued after the picture.)

That CAR CHASE? If you fail that roll, your Cliffhanger might show OFF A CLIFF. Your character has gone off a cliff in a speeding car! Can she escape?! FIND OUT NEXT TURN!

Each Character has powers and talents.
Mobsters pop up in the cities.
Auctions are announced in Shanghai.
You can gear up and gain Allies in the Cities, and then those Allies can die in quicksand, or turn on you.
You can play Events on other players, and on the board.
There are Nazis everywhere.
You get delivery quests, and become a globetrotter.
You get lost in the Jungle trying to find a Temple.
You get attacked by Zombies. Named Villains appear, and then THEY start to go after the artifacts.

And this is just the competitive game. There’s a co-op game too. With Villain events, and vile organizations advancing their plans across the world.

Now, let me tell you, this game isn't cheap. It's a hefty box and very large. You get a LOTTA stuff and believe me, it's well worth it.
All the art for cards, etc. were taken of models dressed in wardrobe. No crappy art from the designers brother or bad black and white photos.
These are full color and really help out with the feel.

Also, one last thing...

It comes with it's own CD soundtrack!

FORTUNE AND GLORY is for 1 - 8 players ages 12 and up and plays around 90 to 180 minutes.
