Hey guys,

I have been messing around with some army lists for my germans. I want to do a PanzerGrenadier force (with tons of history similar to the units I want). I have come up with several different variations of lists. Tell me what you think.

1500pt Panzer Gren

HQ:
Company HQ 45

COMBAT:
Motorized PanzerGrenadier (2 squads) 160

Motorized PanzerGrenadier (2 squads) 160

SUPPORT:

x2 Tiger 1 E's 770

x3 Panzer II Luches 170

x4 5cm AT guns 185

OR

Heavy Infantry gun Platoon (2 Sections) 150 +light motars to Motorized +PanzerKnacker to HQ

OR

x3 Sd Kfz 233 (7.5cm) 185

1500pts

I hope I wrote my army list so you could understand it. BTW, Chris can you give me that site you use for history references?

hmmmm.

For a kick off no 233's , they are not a support option for Panzergrenadiers.

your infantry will be very weak as reduced platoons , it will probably spend most of its time dug in with transport to the rear whilst the Tigers do the fighting ( until they get artillery/air to death) then you are left with 3 Recce tanks as you offensive force , The PaK 38's will then preserve the infantry for a couple of turns until they are overwhelmed Sad

Drop the Tigers , put in full infantry platoons with mortars , buy 2 Pak 40s,2 Stug g's , the Pz II L's to support the Stug's and an armoured Wespe Battery

HQ 45pts

Full Panzergrenadier with mortar 240 pts

Full Panzergrenadier with mortar 240 pts

Support

2 Stug G 355pts

3 PZII L 170 pts

2 Pak 40's 185 pts

3 Wespe 265 pts

1500 points Shocked

The infantry will be able to last longer , Wespes , PaK 's defens objectives and break up attacks with Stug's One infantry platoon in defence the other attacking with Luch's in support , plus artillery to pin down defenders.

Should work against most armies and really are more devious than dirty germans. Laughing

Bob

I never said I wasn't getting anymore of the Great Horde, but I am sick of painting and playing them, so I figured I'd try something new.

I would recommend only putting armour on on platoon, and the second motorized, it will save you some points. You can also only purchase one halftrack for the HQ instead of two.

Think about this. Wait 2 weeks and the first late war book will be out. Look it over and get your next army out of it. Alot changes and maybe you really don't want to be german. The confident -vet status is about to change. I am waiting to see what the book says before I jump into that next army. T-34-85s will be tough. Going to be alot less german air. US with the m-18s will be good. Fireflies for the British will pack a punch. They are Tiger killers. Panzer 4s will be in trouble. Alot to consider!!

Good point Terry. I was thinking of using Germans in Mid-war, not late. I guess I'll just wait for the Late War book. I'll most likely just buy more Soviets for Late War.... Crying or Very sad

Due to Terry informing me of Late War coming out, I have switched back to Soviets (it is sad I can't make up my mind). But, I have changed them to "Guard" because Im crazy. Tell me what you all think.

HQ:
Battalion HQ 160
+Sappers
+add Sappers

Combat:
Strelkovy Company 230
+light motar
+HMG
+Komissar

Strelkovy Company 220
+HMG
+Komissar

Weapons:
Scout Platoon 130
+Komissar

Storm Group 265
+komissar
+Rserve Group

Support:
2 Flame Thrower Sections 160

Total: 1165

BTW, if your thinking I will get raped by half-tracks... think again (can change 4 storm teams into 2, 37mm AT guns before the game!)
