Operation Husky 1.0:

www.box.net/shared/ramernpoip

Click the link and tell me what you think. I worked it out so that the maximum number of battles per campaign turn is 8 and the first will have no more than three.

I am having trouble however working out some victory objectives. Some ideas are something involving the Axis retreating off the Island. Maybe some value applied to each port and to each Axis Division that fails to get off the Island or is destroyed?

Here are the forces involved:

This map shows the initial deployment at the start of the Campaign. Axis has the first turn.

Sean,

We have the US covered pretty well including Airborne, Rangers, Armor, Armored Infantry and Infantry.

I can play either German or Italians. I will have most of the things I need for Bersag, Motociclisti and Carri very soon. I don't have the Fucilieri, but could proxy them easily. We also have an Italian Folgore players.

We have lots of US and German players. What we don't have are very many Brit players. But we could always scale the campaign back to only include the US part.

I dont have a copy of the mediterranean book so guessed on a few things. What are the stats for US airborne troops? I wasnt intending on doing any airdrops in the campaign, as I don't like death from above.

good, DFA isn't really how the troopers dropped in....they are rated Fearless Vet in Afrika....which is consistent with battle reports from the field (as far as I have read).....

Ok thanks, I will fix that. I am almost done with an Operation Husky campaign I am proud of and will post it soon.

Hmmm. As a generic rating, fine: Fearless Vet. My only problem is that this was the 82nd first combat.

Personally, I think there should be a Fearless Trained list for MW paratroopers.

Interesting catch Paul. Funny that you pay attention to a Spokane Forum too!

For the campaign I think on Moral matters for the division, so I think it should be fearless.

I am finding my lack of real knowledge on these battles difficult to construct campaigns with.

Terry Leaf is the person with the most knowledge on this campaign in our group. I am not a student of the Sicily or Italian battles. North Afrika I know decently for the Germans and only a bit for the Italians but I am slowly researching the Italians as I build them.

I did it. Look at the new post at the top of the page and the new map. At the very top is a link to the rules I wrote. What do you think?

Sean,

what program is that written in or for? All I get is gibberish. It states it is zipped, yet winzip does not recognize it and notepad shows it as programming language.

I know it is probably an I D 10 T error or operator error. So tell me what I am doing wrong. I get the same for your rules.

I would tend to agree with you Paul except for the combat at Biazza Ridge....rating these troopers as Trained basically states that they had as much training as a standard leg unit, however these paratroopers were more independant than there standard counterparts....if anybody wants they can read my copy of All American All The Way's section on Operation Husky....

I use IZarc, you can get it here: www.izarc.org/

I also downloaded winzip and it works fine as well. Give it another try. You might consider downloading IZarc also.
