It's baaaacck!!! October 18 2008
Spokanes 24 hour comics day. I'll keep this short and sweet to start and be updating this as we get closer.
If you did it last year you know the drill.
There is no official sign up until the day of the event. But dropping a simple, Yeah I'll be there, here on this thread would give us a ballpark figure on how many are coming.
If you have no idea what the 24 hour comics day event is go here for more info www.24hourcomicsday.com/

October 18 is right around the corner! Are your creative juices flowing? Come join us as we all work individually towards a common goal to create 24 pages in 24 hours. Everyone is invited to join us at Merlyn's in Spokane, WA for the 2008 24 Hour Comics Day Challenge.
Artists of all ages and all skill level are welcome!!!
Don't think you can handle 24 hours? That's okay. You are welcome to come in and leave when you have had enough. Merlyn's store will be open for sales during the entire event. Come check out our work, support us in our challenge, and browse through the really cool stuff in the store.
Here are some useful bits of info to help you prep for the challenge:
Bring your favorite pencils and paper.
Reference materials to ward of periods of lull time.
Water and snack.
Cash to purchase group pizza.
Ride home. Plan to have someone pick you up! After hours of serious creativity, exhaustion does creep in and your responses will not be sharp.
Shout out your commitment to join us in 24 Hour Comics Day challenge!!!!!

24 hour comics day challenge UPDATE!!!

Don't think you can handle 24 hours? That's okay. You are welcome to come in and leave when you have had enough. Merlyn's store will be open for sales during the entire event. Come check out our work, support us in our challenge, and browse through the really cool stuff in the store and maybe buy a couple things. Remember this event cost Merlyn's about $200 to put on every year.
Here are some useful bits of info to help you prep for the challenge:
Bring your favorite pencils, paper, rulers, etc, etc. Any thing that you normally need to make your comics.
Reference materials to ward of periods of lull time.
Water and snack.
Cash to purchase group pizza.
Creature comforts: Like a pillow to rest your head on for a short nap, or maybe to sit on. Sitting on your butt for almost 24 hours strait can leave any one a little tender down there. Also remember, it's October and this is a large building, so yes it might cool off a little bit during the night, so bring a sweatshirt.
Bring a coffee cup. There will be one small coffee pot working. So if you like coffee there will be some. If you need cream and sugar, you need to bring some.
Ride home. Plan to have someone pick you up! After hours of serious creativity, exhaustion does creep in and your responses will not be sharp.
Shout out your commitment to join us in 24 Hour Comics Day challenge!!!!!

Well, I should be there... Don't know how successful my attempt will be, but still going to give it a shot.
Should be fun, whatever the results.

No problems. Thanks to everyone that participated. I wish I could have stayed till the end, but I had a cold that came at a bad time.
BUT a big thanks to Levi for organizing again. And a big thanks to Rachel for keeping everything interesting and peppy when the rest of us were crashing.
We will do it again next year!!
AND lets try to do a monthly get together for art and comic talking/doing. It could be some wednesday or thursday evening, or some saturday or sunday afternoon once a month. What do you guys think?

Hey everybody,
I, too, wanted to thank everyone who came down for the big 24 event.
For those of you who participated in drawing a character profile, thanks again. Come down to merlyn's to pick up your original art, as well as, copies of everyone's work. Mike knows where I stashed them so try to come down Tues-Sat.
See you all next year. Bring a friend and receive an incentive bonus. (to be named Later.)
We'll try to get organized to have an event/meet-up in november. Sunday, November 23 is looking good. No meters to pay. There will be some good shopping sales downtown, so if the meet-up lasts 3-4 hours or so spousal equivalents can have fun too. I'll start a topic for comments about that.
Good drawing, Rachel.
For those of you who were wondering, ThanksGiving is on the 27th this year.
