I heard that this had a huge response. Anyone want to give me a review?
Should I spend the money to go see it in the theatre, or wait til its for sale/rent?

I saw it opening night and, for the first times, had mixed feelings about a Harry Potter movie.

I loved the first two, and thought the third was top notch despite certain choices on the part of the new director that I would not have made. In each movie, although many parts of the books that I counted among my favorites were sacrificed to the alter of film, I felt that they had made each into the best MOVIE that they could.

The fourth film simply did not have the same impact. The story felt rushed, the plot felt half complete, and I was left feeling like I had just watched 3 and some odd hours of "stuff happening". Whereas the others were complete works in and of themselves, I felt as if this was merely an "episode". I couldn't make up my mind if the movie was too long or too short. What made this worse is that I know the book didn't feel the same way. Based on this, I would say that the story itself was simply too long and too involved to lend itself easily to the silver screen.

That said, I highly recommend seeing the movie in the theatres. The special effects were, in my humble opinion, nothing short of epic. They are so seemless that you forget that they are there until it is over and you are walking back to your car. If this is the amount of effort and detail that they are willing to put into these projects, then you should go see it just to bask in the magnitude of the talent put into the film and maintain continuity.

The fifth book, afterall, should make a much better movie...

I liked the newest movie best of all of them so far, it has alot more adult content if you are looking, but still has the kid fun that the others did for those not paying attention to details.
