In the world of board games, Terry Pratchett's Discworld books are suddenly the hot tamale. We have one new game currently in the store based on the series and there is a completely separate game available soon, each from two very distinct and well-respected game companies.

Guards! Guards!

[color=#00ff00]Currently available at our store is Guards! Guards! from Z-Man Games. Here's the text from the back of the box:

"Guards! Guards! is and action packed, fast paced adventure set in the streets of Ankh-Morpork, the Discworlds oldest, grubbiest and least law-abiding city.

Secret societies, rampaging trolls, cut throat street sellers and an 800 pound set of luggage thundering around the city on hundreds of tiny legs.

Players will need wits and cunning just to survive the day, nevr mind returning the Great Spells to the Unseen University and saving the Discworld from looming destruction.

Sorry, did we forget to mention the Dragons?"

Cards in the game have illustrations of 90 different Discworld characters, many of whom ought to elicit more than a few chuckles from fans of the book series. It is designed for 2-6 players, ages 12+.

Discworld: Ankh-Morpork

Before the end of October, Discworld: Ankh-Morpork, a board game from Mayfair Games, will be arriving. It is designed for 2-4 players ages 11 or higher. Each player takes on the role of one of Ankh-Morpork's seven nobles vying for control of the city. Build buildings, accumulate wealth, control city districts, squabble, and acquire minions. Will you play Commander Vimes, Lord de Worde, the Dragon King of Arms, Lord Rust, or one of three other nobles?
