So I went to FREE COMIC BOOK DAY...now what?

Well I'm glad you asked.
Most people see Free Comic Book Day as a way to find out if there's anything new and cool coming out from the top publishers and even some smaller press.
So once you've sat down and read your comic booty, don't stop there!
I mean, you thought that was it? No way!

That's right, Google. No one likes a quitter. So here's what you do to keep that momentum up for reading outstanding books!
________________________________________________________________

1) Did you like what you read?

Free Comic Book Day can be a little hectic so you probably judged a book by its cover and just grabbed for anything that struck your eye.
So here's the million dollar question. Did you like it?
Good, because there's more where that came from.
These books are put out there by companies that want you back. These books aren't just thrown out there from extra stock.
Some like DC's Futures End are just the beginning.

They kick off the summer crossovers and more.
So there's reason one to check back with us. To find out....

What happens next!

2) What was it that you liked? The action? The art? The writing?

You probably noticed that some of these books were older or maybe just stopped and had no ongoing series like Buck Rogers and The Tick.

Those comics are there not only to enjoy once, but also to sample and see if you like the humor, the writing, the art, etc.
Most of those books have collected works or at the very least, other single issues for you to read.
Was it from a movie?

Then you're in luck because a lot of those comic book movies are based on older stories and stories still being published!
Dark Horse has a huge selection in it's Omnibus works where they gather up lots of issues into one ready to read book.
So just because it seemed like a one shot, think again, buddy.
There's plenty more where those came from.

3) I just wanted something for my kid

Sounds good, but lets face it, that doesn't last. Also, wouldn't you rather see your child reading than playing Xbox?
If you answered "yes", and...uh....you should have so good on you, then we can help!

There's a lot of comics out there that may have you re-thinking about what to get your child. Some titles like Batman or Superman have changed since you were a kid.
Not to worry.
Some companies publish nothing but comics for kids and not only are we happy to show you what those are, we have an entire section of the store devoted to kids comics and books.

4) There's no way I can get all the story or back issues of this. Now what?

Yes, some of the titles offered during Free Comic Book Day have been going for a while.

And yes, some of them can be a bit pricey to collect. Let's say you go to eBay "just to see" and after hitting SEARCH, you black out and don't remember much after that.
That's why we carry 100's of graphic novels and collections of issues.
Most collections include about 5-6 issues and range anywhere to about $10.00 to $24.00, depending on softcover, hardcover and company.
That's also another reason we always have 10% off all our stock!

________________________________________________________________

5) I have no idea what I just read.

Beautiful! Why? Because we're a comic book shop and there's nothing more we like to do than to help new readers with something.
Mystery, science fiction, real life, cartoon. Whatever your taste, we probably have a book for you.

It's not all capes and tights. We have books on politics, famous bio's and more, so don't stop reading!
Come in and see what we can hook you up with!
