Well, so far in DC's FLASHPOINT, which yes, will DEFINITELY change the DC Universe forever, is this:

Flashpoint is only on #2, but so far...
Barry Allen wakes up in his office, and hears that Citizen Cold and the Pied Piper are fighting outside the Citizen Cold Museum, and he runs off to stop them. He realizes that the ring he uses to contain his costume is missing, and falls down the stairs. He then discovers his mother (who had been deceased) is alive.
Barry tells his mother that he is the Flash, but she has never heard of the Flash, the Justice League or Superman. When Barry mentions Batman, his mother says she knows of him. Gotham City in this reality is much like Las Vegas, Nevada; we see Batman chasing a villain called Yo-Yo (who resembles the Harley Quinn). Batman demands to know where Joker is. When she does not tell him, he throws her off a building but she is caught by Cyborg. Barry then goes to see his wife Iris Allen (who he was married to).

She is now unmarried in this timeline and in a relationship with someone at the Central City Citizen. Cyborg and Batman have a conference with a group of superheroes as they discuss how the forces of Aquaman's Atlanteans and Wonder Woman's Amazons have caused massive death and destruction in Western Europe.

Unless the heroes band together, they will endanger America as well. The heroes cannot work together however, and they all withdraw leaving Cyborg all alone. Barry Allen drives to Gotham City and enters a run down Wayne Manor and explores a small and cheap Batcave until he is attacked by Batman. Barry Allen tries to explain who he is by saying he knows Batman is Bruce Wayne, but then Batman reveals....pause for dramatic effect..... that he watched Bruce die. After seeing a broken Wayne Family portrait, Barry realizes that this Batman is Thomas Wayne and Bruce died in his place in this timeline.[3]

Meanwhile, Deathstroke the Terminator (depicted as a pirate in this reality) is sailing down the flooded remains of Paris. He along with the Flashpoint incarnations of Sonar, Icicle, and Clayface are searching for any sunken loot to steal until they are attacked by Emperor Aquaman and Ocean Master.
Back at Wayne Manor, Thomas Wayne starts beating up Barry Allen, as Barry tries to explain about his secret identity as the Flash and his relation to Bruce Wayne. Barry's memories spontaneously change and he remembers the flooding of Western Europe by Aquaman and the siege on London by the Amazons and renaming it New Themyscira and Barry learns that the world of Flashpoint is not an alternate dimension, but his own.
Barry's ring, which he uses to contain his Flash outfit, falls from his pocket and he decides to use his costume as proof of his secret identity. However, the ring instead ejects the Reverse-Flash's costume and Barry tells Wayne that the Reverse Flash is taunting him with it. Barry explains that both he and the Reverse Flash have the ability to alter time, leading Thomas Wayne to ask him about how Bruce was to have lived in his place and if he can really change the world, Barry saying that he first needs his speed.
In London, Steve Trevor is waiting at a rendezvous point for Lois Lane as he is attacked by Wonder Woman and the Amazons. Wonder Woman catches him by the neck with her Lasso of Truth and begins interrogating him after he is temporarily able to resist the lasso's effects. He explains that he was hired to extract Lois Lane from New Themyscira because she was sent to gather information on the Amazons for Cyborg.
Wonder Woman states that their counterspy was telling something similar to Cyborg's amassing of super humans to stop the fighting between her and Aquaman and her subjects ask her what to do with Steve Trevor.
At Wayne Manor, Barry created an electric chair-like device to reenact the accident that turned him into the Flash. A bolt of lightning strikes the chair and Barry Allen catches fire. As Batman douses the flames he sees an unconscious Barry, his body covered in severe burns.

And that was just in 2 issues.

Now, onto Fear Itself, which is on Book 3 and many other titles.

During World War II, the Red Skull, on orders of Adolf Hitler, performs a ritual which causes the Hammer of Skadi (which belonged to the Asgardian goddess Skadi) to fall to Earth where it lands in Antarctica. Traveling to Antarctica, the Red Skull finds the hammer but is unable to lift it. Red Skull has Adolf Hitler's Thule Society seal it away and put it under their guard. Many years later, Red Skull's daughter Sin with the help of Baron Zemo retrieves the Book of the Skull that contains the location of the hammer.

While Tony Stark holds a press conference with the Avengers by his side to announce that his company Stark Resilient will help rebuild Asgard in the wake of the "Siege" storyline, Sin finds the Hammer of Skadi, and after lifting it, becomes Skadi, herald of the "Serpent." She then frees the Serpent from his underwater prison, after which he summons seven celestial objects to fall around the globe. Odin senses the return of the Serpent, and commands his people to return to the Asgardian plane against the protests of Thor, whom he has chained and dragged there against his will.

The seven celestial objects are revealed to be divine hammers (which contain the essence of the Serpent's generals known as the Worthy). Four of them land near the Juggernaut, Hulk, Titania, and Attuma.

After lifting the hammers, Juggernaut becomes Kuurth: Breaker of Stone.
Hulk becomes Nul: Breaker of Worlds.
Titania becomes Skirn: Breaker of Men.
Attuma becomes Nerkkod: Breaker of Oceans.

Sin (whose Skadi form was revealed to be the first Worthy) leads an assault on the major cities of Earth. Skadi targets Washington D.C. and destroys the U.S. Capitol Building, sending the public into a frenzy that threatens Thor Girl, who is mistaken for one of the Worthy.
Nul demolishes Brazil while Red She-Hulk tries to stop him. At the time of Juggernaut's transformation, the superhuman prison known as Raft is destroyed, and Kuurth kills the remaining survivors.
Among the surviving inmates who escape are Bastards of Evil members Aftershock and Ember, Icemaster, Living Laser, Man-Bull, Whirlwind, and the Wrecking Crew.
At the same time, the Thunderbolts and the Underbolts are fighting an army of zombies.
As Hercules confronts Raft escapees Man-Bull, Basilisk, and Griffin in the middle of a bank robbery, he discovers that the other person helping them is actually an amnesiac Hecate. While battling the three robbers, Hercules drops his Shield of Perseus. When Hecate looks into the shield, her memories are restored and she vows to take over Brooklyn.
Kyknos also appears and challenges Hercules to a battle as Basilisk and Man-Bull flee. As the civilians controlled by Kyknos have Hercules at bay, he ends up getting unlikely help from Griffin.

In New York City, Spider-Man attempts to deal with the rampant paranoia that grips the city. He saves an Iranian-American taxi driver from a mob, saves a wounded boy, and prevents Roxxon Oil CEO Richard Christansen from committing suicide by jumping off a building. Spider-Man is then attacked by Vermin and his rats.
While Spider-Man is being attacked by Vermin's rats, a man named John Russell mistook a man trying to get off the street as a man that worked with the bank that was forclosing his home and holds him at gunpoint. He later shoots him. A pregnant woman named Karen Anderson is abandoned in the taxi cab by it's driver when her water broke. Norah Winters tries to find a story for the Daily Bugle that will detail about where the fear and chaos is coming from. Spider-Man starts to give in on the fear when he starts experiencing visions of Carlie Cooper, Mary Jane Watson, and Aunt May dead. After fighting off Vermin's rats, Spider-Man visits Mayor J. Jonah Jameson who is unaffected by the fear and chaos that is happening. After a brief talk with Mayor J. Jonah Jameson, Spider-Man goes to continue helping the people in danger. Norah starts to get paranoid that some of the people are part of Norman Osborn's cult. When Norah, Karen, and John (who is still brandishing a gun) end up converging at St. Mark's Church, Spider-Man also arrives and tries to calm John down stating that the man he shot is still alive. Spider-Man manages to calm John down with the help of a priest. Spider-Man swings Karen to the hospital as Thing in the form of Angir starts to pursue him.

Iron Man
travels to Paris to investigate the fall of one of the hammers, only to find the entire population turned to stone. A survivor attempts to warn Iron Man to leave the area, but Tony ends up face-to-face with Grey Gargoyle, who had lifted the hammer and become Mokk: Breaker of Faith (another member of the Worthy). Mokk was the one who had turned the population to stone and eventually kills the survivors and batters Iron Man unconscious. Upon waking up, Iron Man realizes that the ensuing battle between Mokk and himself resulted in the destruction of thousands of "statues.".

During Skadi's attack upon the Capitol Building, congressman Leonard Gary animates the Lincoln Memorial statue, statues and displays from the Smithsonian, and released the "spirit" of George Washington from the Washington Monument. Deducing Gary had been a mutant all along having masked his presence from everyone, the X-Man known as the Beast broadcast an inspirational speech by Gary around the world wherein Gary quoted from Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address before seemingly perishing inside the Capitol.
While helping Ant-Man and Beast, War Machine learns from the Prince of Orphans that the "Eighth City" has been opened. In China, Iron Fist sees Skirn arrive with Absorbing Man for his hammer. Absorbing Man manages to lift up the hammer and becomes Greithoth: Breaker of Wills.
In Asgard-space, Odin builds up Asgard into a war engine with which he intends to raze Earth completely, in order to destroy the Serpent. Thor, who is freed by Loki, and joined by his loyal comrades, opposes Odin's plan to destroy the Earth, and convinces Odin to send him back there, but Odin tells him that he has only until the shadow of the Serpent falls upon the world tree before his plans to raze Earth is inevitable.
Meanwhile at the Baxter Building, the Future Foundation is analyzing the hammer that had landed there which ends when Thing lifts the hammer and becomes Angir, Breaker of Souls.

In Washington, DC, Skadi, battles Captain America (James "Bucky" Barnes) ripping off his cybernetic left arm and gravely wounding him. He manages to get a warning to the others before he collapses.
Attuma as Nerkodd targets Namor and ends up fighting him alongside Doctor Strange, Lyra, and Loa. Silver Surfer also arrives to help them thus forming another version of the Defenders in order to reclaim New Atlantis from Nerkodd.
Amongst the chaos caused by the Worthy, Deadpool manipulates Walrus into thinking that he has been chosen to wield a magical hammer.

She-Hulk, Howard the Duck, Frankenstein's Monster and Nighthawk come together as the Fearsome Four when Man-Thing is driven on a rampage.

So there you have it. The Summer is off to a HUGE bang and it will definitely have some repercussions in the comic universe.
