Flames of War: 19 September @1000 we will be setting up with an expected play time of 1030. The scheme of the game will be a mega battle with players sides being determined once we have a count of nation types playing. Pending on who shows up, we might play as mixed nations or go Axis v Allies. Although I have never used this format for a tournament, a large table can allow us to tutor new players but still maintain an atmosphere of competition. To play will cost $10 at the door with:
45% of the door going to best General;
25% to second place
30% to best paints
Last place will get their $10 back as gesture of "come play again."
Based on who turns out for play will decided the mission and who will ultimately end up on defense and who will get offense.
1250 point lists generated from either Africa or Ostfront. In case we have an odd number of players, come prepared with two separate 1250 company lists (if possible).
Hero characters are welcome in the match.
Scoring is determined by:
Claiming/maintaining your victory marker + 5 points
Fail to maintain or capture your victory marker - 4
Assist in capturing/maintaining an allies victory marker + 3
If assisted in capturing or maintaining a victory marker you gain + 2
Slay an enemy platoon + 2 points
Loose a platoon - 1 point
Points are tallied at the end of the mission as the field of battle will shift based on those cursed D6's.
Ties on scoring will split the winnings
Best paint cannot also take best general
Best in paint is determined by the staff as an independent party.
I have had positive contact with BF in New Zealand and I definitely have prize support coming for Tactical Solution 2009; and I might get some for this event. I will post as information becomes available.
Table space for this event has been reserved
