The next DC set of Heroclix has a tentative November release date. It will be called DC75, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of DC comics. The information they've given us so far is that it will feature iconic representations of some of their famous characters as well as characters from recent storylines like the White Lanterns that have appeared in Blackest Night and Brightest Day.

Here are some pictures that were posted at the Game Trade Magazine website.

...and, if you are interested, here's a link to the Game Trade Magazine site from which I got these pictures. You'll see there a picture of the new Sgt. Rock remake in addition to the ones from above.

Hey all! I thought it might be a good time to start our list of characters confirmed to be in DC75.

1. Superman (see pic above)
2. Wonder Woman (see pic above)
3. Batman (sculpt based on his 1st appearance - Detective Comics #27)
www.coverbrowser.com/i...s/27-1.jpg

4. Sgt. Rock
5. The Crimson Avenger
6. Green Lantern (John Stewart)
7. Doomsday
8. Bane (see pic above)
9. The Wonder Twins w/Gleek
10. Atrocitus (Red Lantern)
12. Guy Gardner (Red Lantern)
13. Larfleeze (Orange Lantern)
14. Green Arrow (White Lantern)
15. Hal Jordan (White Lantern)

And Sinestro (White Lantern) as the Buy It By the Brick figure

It has been confirmed that there will be 10 White Lanterns in the set. Assuming this counts Sinestro, that means there are 7 more that haven't yet been confirmed.

Green Arrow and Hal Jordan got to be White Lanterns for a couple of panels of one comic book in Blackest Night #8. The rest of the guys in the picture are likely to be the other White Lanterns in DC75...

...those other people in the picture are white lantern versions of Ice, Kid Flash (Bart Allen), Donna Troy, Superman, Wonder Woman, Superboy, Animal Man, and the Flash (Barry Allen), in addition to the Hal Jordan and Green Arrow characters we already know we will be getting.

The first official preview for DC75 is up at the Wizkids website. It is Ragdoll, Peter Merkel Jr., from the Secret Six!

Here's the link:
wizkidsgames.com/blog/...him-clown/

Secret Six fans should be very pleased with this set, with the appearances of Ragdoll, Bane, and Black Alice all confirmed. This makes me wonder if we might just be getting a remake of Catman and Deadshot.

BOOSTER DRAFT! Wed. 12/15 4:00 pm.

On DC75 release day, December 15th, we are having a booster draft again, like we did for Web of Spider-Man.

For those who missed the last one or are unfamiliar with a booster draft, you buy two booster packs, but DON'T open them. All the players get together around a table and everyone opens their first booster all at once. You pick just ONE of the 5 pieces from you booster and pass it to your left. You will, be receiving a booster from your the player on your right with one piece missing, picked out by him. All players will then pick out one piece from the booster they've been given and then pass that one off to the left. This continues until the first boosters are empty. Repeat with your second booster. The pieces you picked are now yours. You then make a 400 point team out of that and that will be your team for the day.

Will you get Doomsday, Wonder Woman, Guy Gardner, the Wonder Twins, or Larfleeze? Will the guy to your right pick that Easy Company Soldier that works well with your Sgt. Rock piece, or will he pass it along, giving you a chance to play a cool soldier theme team?

Join us on Wednesday if you can. Booster boxes are $11.99 each, but keep in mind that they are 10% off just like everything else in our store, so your final price, even with sales tax will be under $24.

I hope to see you there!

As of this posting, we still don't know the full contents of the tournament prize kits, but we do know that the map for DC75 will be a double-sided map. The first side features an airport terminal. The flip side features Hawkworld (not Thanagar, but the extra-dimensional land portrayed in the Brightest Day comic series).

It looks like a very fun set. Please post and let me know if you have any questions about who these characters are. I can help out with any of that if you need to.

6 more days!

Post-release report:

Release day was a lot of fun. We played our booster draft game on one big map, 5 of us at the same time. Joe from Canada played golden age Wonder Woman teaming up with two Osiris figs, which was pretty scary because that guy has hypersonic speed at the top of his dial! I fielded a couple of Zamorans and Saint Walker. I got a little too cutthroat and stabbed too many people in the back and they teamed up to knock me out of the game. Ryan was already out and Ben went shortly after me. Jason and Joe called the game and everybody walked away with something from the DC75 prize kit.

Since then, DC75 has turned out to be a surprisingly good sales success for Wizkids. Not only did Wizkids sell out already, but even the distributors are already out of product. For you, this means that the quantity of DC75 boosters you see here at Merlyn's and other stores can't be replenished. In another month or so, DC75 will likely be gone everywhere. If you think this is an exaggeration, try finding booster packs of Crisis or Hammer of Thor in a store, or even on the internet. They sold out long ago. DC75 is tracking right now to sell out faster than those sets did. Get in while the getting's good.

P.S. - If any of you out there has a Bane, Sinestro, or a Wonder Twins piece from this set, let me know. I have a couple goodies from DC75 (Ares, SR Batman, and White Lantern Superboy) that I could trade for those pieces.

Now, on to the speculation about the March 2011 set, Giant-Size X-Men...
