I'm looking forward to the Campaign and Sunday too. Should we bring snacks?

Ya. It seems a little odd, but its SIMPLE so that people can stick with it. And, as I said, doing a big game of Planetstrike would be a great story opener. Thought it could be Chaos defending and the Imperial force attacking. Would be a nice change of pace since it's usually the other way around.

Would be interesting. We would need Chaos players though. Do we have enough?

Andy and Wes. You could field your guardsmen as traitor guardsman.

Hey guys, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you.
I'm glad to see so much enthusiasm for the campaign, and I gladly endorse any additions you wish to make for your own games, so long as you understand that most of the players you will be scheduling games against will not be doing things like unit experience.
A narrative campaign is essentially "40k with a DM" in that I will be setting the stage and ultimately narrating the story, but to keep things easy I'm using a ladder campaign structure (what the BRB calls a tree campaign) to define a set of preplanned story arcs and missions. Really cool reports and events from you guys will get worked into the story if I can, but the main arc will be determined purely by objectives completed. I have already finished the ladder set (no peeking; spoilers) and some of the missions. Without giving away too much, here's how objectives will work:
Primary: the side that achieves the most primary objectives determines which path we move down the ladder.
Secondary: completing secondary objectives will reveal extra information that may help your side win the war
Tertiary: these objectives will reveal further information, as well as affecting the "degree of victory" for each battle and the war as a whole.
The planetstrike game sounds like great idea!
I didn't want to tell you anything about the plot, but plan on having Chaos defending for your first game.
Chris has me doing event info for SpoCon ads so I'm writing a little fluff teaser. When I'm happy with it I'll post it up for y'all to read.

Oh and here's the team breakdown for the different codices:
"Good" Guys:
* Codex: Blood Angels
* Codex: Grey Knights
* Codex: Imperial Guard
* Codex: Space Marines
* Codex: Space Wolves
* Codex: Black Templars
* Codex: Dark Angels
* Codex: Eldar
* Codex: Witch Hunters
"Bad" Guys:
* Codex: Dark Eldar
* Codex: Tyranids
* Codex: Chaos Daemons
* Codex: Chaos Space Marines
* Codex: Orks
* Codex: Tau Empire
* Codex: Necrons
If you want to sign up as a particular force but have a fluff reason to be on the other side (Traitor Guard, Knights of Blood, etc) just let me know.

Hiya all. I'm new in town, and today I signed up for both the 'ard Boyz next week and this narrative. I put down Chaos on the signup, (around 2200 worth of daemons), but could realistically field loyal or traitor Marines, Orks, or in a pinch a heap of Necrons. Is there a army or side that feels under represented?

w00t! Daemons that'll be a sweet addition to the forces of Chaos. From our "prelude" game last session, I think the side of disorder really needs more players. There's lots of Space Marines, and guard but not much evil. That'll have to change! For Chaos is Strong, but at the moment out numbered

You could easily rope in some Ork mercs to start.

Let's see how the Boyz do at the tourny. They may suck. I've never fielded them before and they are a strange list, (90 grots, for instance). I feel bad I don't have any movement trays - 182 models are going to take FOREVER to move each turn. But if they are any good at the stompin' and the blastin' I'd love to get them painted up and on the table more often - Orks are cool. And I can't wait for a nice, pitched battle with the daemons. Organized battle lines don't handle them well at all.

We don't expect them to be painted for our friendly games (ie: campaign) and we even allow some limited proxying as well. So, don't worry too much about those aspects.

I don't even expect models to be painted for my tournament games. If you want to paint your stuff please do because painted armies look really cool, but there's no pressure.
If you can't get an army set up by next week, just let me know when you're ready. The campaign will run for five weeks, and I'm cool with adding people late. And if you've got the stuff built for another army, sign up as tau and play with whatever you've got.
