#1: Heroclix - Blackest Night & The Brave & the Bold Author: HZeraze, Posted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:16 pm ---- In the next few months, DC Heroclix will be putting out some excellent product.
The Brave & the Bold
April 14 is the release date for the Brave & the Bold expansion. Team-ups, the tradition in DC's Brave & the Bold comics, is the theme for this set, which is supposed to have 25% of the set as duo figures. If you don't know about duo figures, this means two figures on one dial, to represent their ability to fight well together.
In addition to this, there is a new mechanic, Alter Ego, that we don't yet know much about. It has something to do with characters that can switch back and forth between two identities.
May 12 is when the Blackest Night Starter Set hits the shelves, complete with the newest updated rulebook, dice, a map, and 7 cool figures from the Blackest Night storyline. Which ones, you ask? These guys:
If you are interested in pre-ordering a brick or two of Brave & the Bold or pre-ordering the Blackest Night starter set, let us know as soon as you can.
#2: Re: Heroclix - Blackest Night & The Brave & the Bold Author: HZeraze, Posted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:21 pm ---- For those interested, here are links to the two greatest places to find out information about Heroclix.
The Wizkids website, now run by the new owners, NECA, is still under construction, but features great links to each of the Blackest Night figures, new announcements, and an extensive figure gallery.
HCRealms is a fansite that has thousands of members and a huge variety of forums, including sections on rules, tournaments, news items, reviews, comics, and loads of other things both clix-related and otherwise.
#3: Re: Heroclix - Blackest Night & The Brave & the Bold Author: HZeraze, Posted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:47 pm ---- Which characters will be appearing in the Brave & the Bold set?
I will keep updating this thread as we find out more and more about which ones will be appearing.
Here's what we know thus far:
2. Clark Kent
3. Martian Manhunter
4. Captain Marvel/Black Adam (duo)
6. The Two Flashes (Barry Allen/Wally West duo)
7. Flash & Green Lantern (duo)
8. Batman & Green Arrow (duo)
9. Brainiac/Lex Luthor (duo)
10. Hawkman & the Atom (duo)
11. Poison Ivy/Harley Quinn (duo)
12. Kid Zoom
Additionally, the announcements about the Alter Ego figures have suggested there would be 5. Most believe this will be Superman & Clark Kent, Batman & Bruce Wayne, Wonder Woman & Diana Prince, Green Lantern & Hal Jordan, and Flash & Barry Allen, although most of those haven't been officially confirmed yet.
That sweet-looking Batman/Catwoman piece isn't actually a part of the set, but is, instead a Buy-It-by-the-Brick figure. That means the only way to get one is to buy a whole brick (10 packaged boosters) of Brave & the Bold. You will then have to mail in a coupon to get this limited edition figure. Again, let us know if you want to pre-order a brick of Brave & the Bold. This looks like it will be an excellent set.

#5: Re: Heroclix - Blackest Night & The Brave & the Bold Author: HZeraze, Posted: Tue Mar 16, 2010 4:09 pm ---- OK, updated list of Brave & the Bold:
2. Clark Kent
3. Martian Manhunter
4. Bruce Wayne
6. Kid Zoom
9. Power Girl
10. The Two Flashes (Barry Allen/Wally West duo)
11. Flash & Green Lantern (duo)
12. Batman & Green Arrow (duo)
13. Brainiac/Lex Luthor (duo)
14. Hawkman & the Atom (duo)
15. Poison Ivy/Harley Quinn (duo)
16. Captain Marvel/Black Adam (duo)
17. Green Lantern/Green Arrow (Hard-Travelin' Heroes duo)
I rearranged the list so that the duos were all on the bottom. Since the last post, we have confirmed Gizmo, a Green Lantern/Green Arrow duo, and Power Girl. I also included Bruce Wayne because he has been verbally confirmed from the company in early announcements. There are supposed to be between 12 and 15 duos, so expect 4 to 7 more of those in future announcements.
We have a little less than a month before the set releases and only 17 figures confirmed. There are a lot of surprises still to come. I can't wait to find out who the rest will be.
#6: Re: Heroclix - Blackest Night & The Brave & the Bold Author: HZeraze, Posted: Fri Mar 19, 2010 5:53 pm ---- OK, some news this week. We got an official preview of Metallo, the Man With the Kryptonite Heart, from Wizkids.
In addition to that link, on HCRealms, some rumors have come forth regarding a small group of other figures. One of them was Metallo, before he was officially previewed. Based on that, and a couple of other reasons, I think they are legit, so I am including them in this updated list. The ones from that have not been officially confirmed are in italics, in case you are skeptical.

Yesterday was a big day for Heroclix news. Wizkids not only gave us details on their schedule for the rest of the year (see the post above), but that info also confirmed the theme for the next full Marvel expansion - Web of Spider-Man. They even previewed a figure that will be in the set, a duo fig featuring Iron Man & War Machine. Here is a link to a picture:
1: Filling the HeroClix product pipeline

#12: Re: Heroclix - Blackest Night & The Brave & the Bold Author: HZeraze, Posted: Tue Apr 13, 2010 4:39 pm ---- They're here.
Wednesday, we open at 10 am. Come and get your clix. I am off now to post start a new thread about our tournament schedule.
If anyone wants to turn this thread into a pull-thread and report what you pulled out of your boosters, bricks, and cases, feel free to do so, especially if you get lucky enough to pull a chase figure.
I have heard that there is a Blackest Night Martian Manhunter chase, but I am not sure if that is legit or not at this point.
#13: Re: Heroclix - Blackest Night & The Brave & the Bold Author: HZeraze, Posted: Fri Apr 16, 2010 6:40 pm ---- HOKEY SMOKES!
I opened up a case of Brave & the Bold the other day and I have got to tell you guys, this set is better and funner than I expected. The special powers and combinations are dynamic and sometimes game-changing.
For those sick of seeing Superman and Batman dominating every game in which they appear, there are two pieces you have GOT to get your hands on:
#41 Talia Al Ghul
There are two Talia pieces in this set. The one in a purple suit, #41, is a Batman-buster extraordinaire. She has a power called Seductress. Here's what it can do: "Talia Al Ghul can use Mind Control. When targeting an opposing character possessing the Batman Ally team ability or named 'Batman,' she modifies her attack value by +2 and heals 1 damage
instead of taking any damage from Mind Control." That means the usual penalty that a mind controller usually has for attempting to mind control a powerful character actually heals Talia instead of hurting her. But only when she's doing it to Batman or one of his buddies. That is nasty.
#32 Kryptonite Man
Holy Cow! A supervillain actually made of Kryptonite? And, yes, he works about how you would expect. "Characters within 8 squares of Kryptonite Man that possess the Superman Ally team ability or named 'Superman' have Earthbound/Neutralized and damage dealt to them may not be reduced below 1. When these characters are given a non-free action, modify their speed values by -3 for that action." Please note this is not a power that Kryptonite Man has to hit Superman with. If Superman or his buddies are even within 8 squares they are affected. They cannot fly and they stop being bulletproof. Heck, they're not even plastic spork-proof! To make it even worse, their movement is reduced by 3, so they'll have a heckuva time even trying to run away.
That is only barely scraping the surface of the crazy cool combinations that abound in the Brave & the Bold. Currently we are almost sold out of our initial order, but we have more on the way.
