Working on scenario and rules for an Planetstrike-Apocalypse game to kick off the campaign. Everyone is welcome to play and a rules post will be fourthcoming.

The game will be on Sunday the 21st. Please arrive by 11:00am as we hope to begin by noon at the latest. The rest of the rules are as follows.

The opening game of the campaign in which the foul servants of chaos will be made to bow before the Emperor!

The mission has been made to function as an Apocalyspe scale Planetstrike game. While many of the specific rules about how the game will begin and progress will be gone over during the game, I thought I'd get some basics established.

Minimum point values in order to join will be 1000 points per player.

There will also be modified force organization charts in order to maintain the flavor of Planetstrike. The different sides for the match will be done as dictated by Steven here; merlyns.biz/index.php?...=6153#6153 and will tell you which you need to build your list.

For the Forces of Chaos (Defenders):
1 HQ
2 Heavy Support

For the Forces of the Imperium (Attackers):
1 HQ
2 Elites

These are simply your minimums and you can bring anything else along in accordance with Apocalypse though we'd ask that you only use forces from one race rather than mixing them as Apocalypse would normally allow. This is to maintain the intended feel of Planetstrike and to preserver our sanity when looking at assorted units.

Superheavies are allowed and even welcomed. However, titans will only be allowed if present for both teams and if agreed on by all the players. Superheavy vehicles will also be representative of bastions within the Planetstrike rules.

Formations and other vehicles from Imperial Armour will not be usable for this match as we want to keep this first event more managable.

Defenders will set up terrain and the match will begin according to Planetstrikes rules. Event organizers (myself) and Thomas Rickard will be at the store at 10:30 to help arrange tables and help with any questions players have about the game. We request that any players on the Defending team who can show, do so that we can start getting the terrain set up for the game.

The scoring for the scenarios will be as follows:
There will be two point types for the match; Kill Points, and Objective Points.
HQ's will be worth 3 Kill Points a piece.
FOR DEFENDERS: Enemy Heavy Support units will be worth 3 Kill Points. This will include Heavy Support vehicles bought as dedicated transports (such as Land Raiders)
FOR ATTACKERS: Enemy Elite units will be worth 3 Kill Points. This will include Elite units that are used as/turned into Troops by rules & special characters (such as Sternguard or Space Marine Bikes)
Baneblades/Superheavies: will count as 3 Kill Points if destroyed and are capturable as Bastions.
All other killed units will be worth 1 Kill Point.

Objective points will be taken by holding Bastions, or their ruins at the end of the game as per the Planetstrike rules.
Bastions will each be worth 1 Objective Point. This includes Superheavies that are captured, even if destroyed, as well.
The Fortress of Redemption, curteously offered up for use by Andrew Smith as the centerpiece of the defense will be worth 3 Objective points.

At the end of the game, each team's Kill Point's will be tallied up and divided by 3 and the result converted into additional Objective Points for each team to decide the winner.

To offset points differences between the teams, Strategems will be awarded accordingly.

Also, please keep your armies as close to WYSIWYG as possible for quick identification of units on the table. Smile Some limited proxying will be allowed at the discretion of the Organizers. Some guidelines are that proxied items must be similar in size, shape, and footprint and somewhat recognizable as the unit they represent. No proxying of Superheavies will be allowed.

Hope to see you all there. Smile

Completely cool. Just make sure I have it right on the list next time you're in the store.

So... I have a temple of skulls, assembled and primed, though not painted. I also have 100+ pieces of Pegasus terrain - the Gothic buildings and ruins sets - that's all modular and can be used in any way we can think of. Should I bring all of it?

Also, for this first game, I get that 1000 points is the minimum - what's the maximum? 1000 points limits the effectiveness of demons unless I pick the right god. But with higher point totals I can branch out a bit.

With Apocalypse, there will be no maximum. Build as big as you want and we'll adjust with strategems, or by scaling down the larger lists. Smile

If it's not too much trouble, you could bring those terrain pieces. If they're a pain to haul, just try to bring one or two large ones. Smile
